AIR Loyalty brings together two complementary ideas: points customers can spend and credentials that prove their status. Use points for funded rewards and redemption; use credentials for membership, tier, and milestone benefits.

Stable loyalty points and AIR Shop

A stable-points program connects earning to a useful redemption experience. Customers earn rewards from eligible activity, see the value they can use, and spend at a participating surface under the program’s rules. AIR Shop is an AIR-owned redemption surface. An AIR Shop-style campaign gives customers a clear destination for their rewards. A partner could build a related experience around its own approved checkout or reward catalog, with earning and spending rules suited to its business. The underlying SP design describes 1:1 USD8 backing. Campaign rewards can add restrictions and expiry on top of that infrastructure. Stable backing does not make every reward universally spendable; currency and campaign eligibility still apply.

Campaign rewards with breakage

A partner could reward a qualifying purchase with campaign pSP that customers can spend before a stated expiry. The campaign sets the earn rule, eligible redemption options, and reward deadline. As customers spend, redeemed value settles to the merchant or partner. Rewards that remain unused at expiry produce breakage. Where recovery is supported, eligible backing can return to the campaign budget and fund the next round of rewards. For example, a campaign allocates 200 reward units: 120 are redeemed, while 80 expire unused. The backing eligible for those 80 units may be recycled under the campaign’s rules. This illustration does not promise a conversion rate, profit, or return. Make the expiry visible when customers earn and when they check their balance. The goal is a useful reward experience; breakage is part of the campaign’s accounting, not a guaranteed business outcome. Read Loyalty points for the concepts, then explore issuing and spending.

Tier-based rewards

A loyalty credential can prove that a customer is a Gold member. A participating partner verifies the credential and grants its own perk or applies the tier to a campaign’s earning rules. The credential proves eligibility; the reward system determines the benefit and maintains any spendable balance. Each partner chooses which issuers and tiers it accepts. The member discount demo illustrates airline Gold status qualifying a customer for a café benefit. This is a credential example, separate from points redemption.

Milestones and seasonal membership

Issue a credential for an achievement such as a tenth visit, or give seasonal membership a defined expiry. A partner can verify that evidence without connecting directly to your loyalty database. Your loyalty engine remains the source of the qualifying event. Revoke and replace credentials when status changes, and track one-time benefit redemption separately from the credential itself.
